Martin Goulding – Head of Guitar (JTC)
Graduating from the Guitar Institute of Technology in 1993, Martin has become one of the foremost modern rock educators in the UK.
But Martin doesn’t call it a day there: he’s also a published author and has created a mobile app. Because when Martin isn’t fretting his guitar, he uses his fingers to type columns for some of the biggest guitar magazines: Guitar Techniques, Total Guitar, Guitar World, and Guitar Interactive. He also contributed to the 2002 international best seller, Guitar: A Complete Guide for the Player. And, as the host of one of the largest guitar websites (www.martingoulding.com), his name has become synonymous with guitar education. Why stop there, though? Pull out your iPad and you can download his app, Modern Rock Guitar, which was designed in conjunction with Leafcutter Studios exclusively for iPad.
But back to the performing…Martin keeps himself busy in the studio with clients including the Chappell Recorded Music Library, Bruton Music, Zomba, Unity, and the BBC. Martin writes, engineers, and produces the progressive rock band Linear Sphere; their second album, Manvantara, was just released. (Check out www.linearsphere.com for news and reviews.)
Paul Elliott – Head of Drums
For over 25 years, Paul Elliott has been working in drum tuition and music education, having worked with drummers from the bands you love: Radiohead, The Cure, The Kinks, Hard Fi, Adele, Kylie Minogue, George Michael — and that’s just to name a few.
Now, as one of Europe’s leading drummers, Paul can say he’s played or recorded with the likes of Shaun Baxter, Frank Gambale, Guthrie Govan, Stu Hamm, Richard Niles, and John Wheatcroft. He has also shared the stage with critically heralded drummers like Steve Smith, Manu Katche, Simon Phillips, Akira Jimbo, Gary Husband, Mark Mondesir, Sonny Emory, Erik Smith, Gary Chaffee, and more.
